Caney Creek Student Media earns Top 5 spot in Texas — again.
ATPI just released the Top Program results, and our photographers showed out:
• 1st in Sports
• 2nd in Commercial Photography
• 3rd in Portraits
• 3rd in Photojournalism
• 4th Overall (just 1 point away from 2nd!)
We’re proud to move up from 5th to 4th overall in the state — and even prouder to be tied for No. 1 photojournalism program in Texas when you combine sports and photojournalism divisions.
Big congrats to seniors Danny Noyola and Jorge Ventura for placing and earning Hal Fulgham scholarship awards for their sports portfolios. Danny received honorable mention and Jorge got second place.

The Powderpuff game is tomorrow after school from 3-5pm. Cost is $3.00 and tickets can be purchased during lunches. We will have a snowcone truck on site, and concessions available to purchase also. Come out and support! ♥️🖤💛🐾

It’s Medal Monday for ILPC winners in Texas . Logan Day sports his medals in a number of writing and photography contests ; this year’s staff is celebrating huge wins with a Gold Star Award and a Silver Star Award. Shout out to the student journalists in Texas !
Caney Creek Student Media wrapped up the 2025 UIL ILPC Spring Convention with lots of success including some Tops in Texas, Individual Awards, and BOTH publications receiving a Star Award. The Creek Compass website won a Gold Star Award. The Creek yearbook earned a Silver Star.
